TRAVEL WRITING

Truth be told, I became an anthropologist from a love for travel and the new worlds travel opens up when I meet new people, eat new things, at different times of day, in different ways, and when I endeavor to learn a language, be it a few words or a whole grammar. Travel is a magical realm and one that is deepened by my training in anthropology. When I enter a new place or return to an old favorite place, I can feel the wheels and springs of my mind and senses whir into high gear, readying to take in all that is new.

All of my travel writing comes out of the skills and information-gathering finesse of an anthropologist. I like to hit the ground running and dive under the surface as soon as possible, talking to locals about their reality and what is happening from their eyes, so that I can bring that world back and share it with interested readers who like me are passionate about travel and about other cultures.
